Jeremy Baruch, MD


Dr. Jeremy Baruch completed his BA from the University of Michigan Honors Program where he was an Angell Scholar and received a creative writing award through the Hopwood Awards Program. While studying psychology as a doctoral student at New York University's Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, he decided to go to medical school to become a psychiatrist. Seeking this additional medical training, he prepared himself to skillfully integrate both mind and body approaches to mental health.
Upon admission to the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Baruch was awarded a full tuition recruitment merit Dean’s Scholarship. As a University of Michigan medical student, he was a member of the hospital’s Ethics Committee and served as president of the medical school's Honor Council.
He continued his training as a psychiatric resident at the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry, where he was awarded the Kenneth Chamberlain Scholarship for being a promising psychiatry resident, the Frankwood Williams Award for his teaching skills and the Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Award for his skills as a psychotherapist. Dr. Baruch completed a fellowship in psychodynamic psychotherapy at the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
Dr. Baruch has an appointment with the University of Michigan Department of Psychiatry as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor. He has an ongoing affiliation with the University of Michigan Medical School. He worked as an attending psychiatrist at St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor before starting Baruch Psychiatry PLLC. Dr. Baruch has been involved in medical research and has presented posters, papers and publications on a variety of topics in the United States and abroad.
